Originally sold in France and imported to the United States in the 1970s, this left-hand drive S600 is a rare and charming survivor from Honda’s first foray into four-wheeled transportation. Powered by a remarkably advanced 606cc DOHC inline-four, the engine breathes through quadruple side-draft carburetors and revs to an astonishing 11,000 rpm, a true testament to Honda’s engineering bravado.
Paired with a four-speed manual transmission and dual outboard chain-drive assemblies—a unique setup that hints at Honda’s motorcycle roots—the S600 offers a distinct and engaging driving experience unlike anything else from its era.
The interior features fixed-back black vinyl bucket seats, a color-matched dashboard, brushed metal trim, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The dash-mounted instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, 11k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. Additional equipment includes a heater/defroster, rounding out its well-appointed yet minimalist cabin.
