Atlanta Legal Community Raises More Than $648,000

ATLANTA, GA, May 17, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — The 12th Annual Georgia Legal Food Frenzy Competition recently wrapped up and the results are in for the 2023 fundraising competition! This year, the two-week fundraising initiative rallied nearly 200 legal teams across the state and generated $829,239 to fight hunger. The annual drive is held in partnership with Attorney General Chris Carr, the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia, and Feeding Georgia (formerly known as the Georgia Food Bank Association) for the benefit of local food banks. The competition included 112 teams in the Atlanta area alone. The Atlanta area participants aided the Atlanta Community Food Bank in raising $648,187 to serve 2,592,748 meals across their 29-county service area.

“We applaud our state’s legal community for continuing to support the fight against hunger and for joining forces through the annual Georgia Legal Food Frenzy Competition,” said Kyle Waide, President and CEO of Atlanta Community Food Bank. “Hunger is an issue that has grown throughout the years, and we are able to meet these moments of need thanks to the generous support of our various community members. It is our collective efforts that can help us succeed in this battle.”

Each year, the Georgia Legal Food Frenzy helps raise critical awareness and funds that directly impact the Food Bank’s continued efforts to provide access to nutritious food and critical resources for food insecure families, seniors, and children. The need for food assistance remains a growing issue and the funds raised will assist the Food Bank in purchasing additional food to support those in need across metro Atlanta and North Georgia.

About Atlanta Community Food Bank
The Atlanta Community Food Bank works to end hunger with the food, people and big ideas needed to ensure our neighbors have the nourishment to lead healthy and productive lives. Far too many people in our own community experience hunger every day, including children, seniors and working families. Through more than 700 nonprofit partners, we help more than 611,000 people get healthy food every year. Our goal is that all hungry people across metro Atlanta and North Georgia will have access to the nutritious meals they need when they need them. It takes the power of our whole community to make that possible. In 2023, the Atlanta Community Food Bank distributed its one billionth meal. Join us at acfb.org.
