Texas, Unknown, November 1, 2025 — Dallas marked a significant milestone on Saturday with the launch of Texas’s first public drone delivery network for prescription medications, designed to serve underserved neighbourhoods across the city. The initiative, unveiled at a community event on November 1, brings together local pharmacies, healthcare providers, and technology partners to ensure rapid, reliable access to essential medicines.
Officials highlighted that the network leverages unmanned aircraft systems to deliver non-controlled prescriptions directly to patients’ homes, reducing wait times and improving healthcare outcomes. “This project is a testament to Dallas’s commitment to innovation and community health,” said Dr. Daniel Carroll, Executive Director of the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
Deliveries are coordinated from central pharmacy hubs, with drones capable of operating in various weather conditions and reaching patients in areas previously challenged by transportation barriers. The programme is expected to expand in 2026, further enhancing medication access for thousands of Dallas residents.
